Donna Duffy

Born, raised, and educated in New York, Donna Duffy has devoted her career to education, teaching children from kindergarten through middle school, as well as several years in special education.

 

A graduate of Hofstra University on Long Island, she has lived and worked in Vieques, St. Thomas, and Key West.  She also carries a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of the Virgin Islands. Her past teaching positions include the Instituto Nuevo in Vieques, the free public Montessori school system and after moving to St. Croix, a 24-year tenure teaching fifth grade at what is now Good Hope Country Day School. She currently works with the Infants and Toddlers Program, with the Department of Health in St. Croix, serving newborns through 3-year-olds.

 

Donna is the mother of two  ̶  a daughter who is Director of Counseling in a Connecticut public school system and a son, a restaurant owner, and is a grandmother to five children, ranging from age 6 – 20.

 

Donna considers it a privilege to have worked with the Children’s Museum of St. Croix since 2018 and is inspired by this group of dedicated, creative, selfless, and hard-working folks. In Donna's words:  “My heart has always been in education, which I believe is the key to solving the ills of the world...”
